We spent yesterday afternoon and this morning selecting, scanning, and burning pictures to a CD for one of our photobuyers. Just made the deadline of 1pm at UPS today to insure delivery Monday am.
A big part of the stock photography business is marketing and processing your product for sale.
Yesterday and today we have been making photographs in the tourist spots around Orlando, Florida, for one of our photobuyers.
To speed up the work situation, we are staying at one of the Disney hotels. There is a free monorail linking 3 hotels, Disney and Epcot. Saves a lot of time.
We photographed the fireworks at Disney World last night. Beautiful! Will upload one of the pictures when the film is processed.
IMHO if you are visiting Disney World without kids, the best hotel is the Grand Floridian.
What is your favorite flower? We have had roses, orchids, daylilies, and pansy for years. Last spring a customer asked for daisy. We had the pictures of several dasies from botanical gardens, but, never put them on Cafe Press.

A few years ago we joined a nature photographers index online. It brought lots of email from photographers, but not photobuyers.
Hopefully this new index will reach photobuyers. Will keep you informed.
Today we’re working on a submission of Orlando, Florida, pictures to one of our travel photobuyers. We lived in Orlando for 15 years so we have lots of cool pictures.
This submission will be images taken with digital camera and with film camera. The slide film chosen then gets scanned with our Nikon CoolScanV and all burned to CD. The whole project will probably take 2 days.
Once you are serious about selling your work, you’ll find the “selling” or marketing takes more time than the photographing itself.
One of the hidden benefits is meeting new people (photo editors and researchers) and making new friends.
A male orangutan with puffy cheeks has joined the female and baby orangs in our Photo Accents zoo. Customers who love orangs thought the mother nursing her baby was more appropriate for women or baby clothes, so, we added the macho male. He is seen here on ringer t-shirt.
Orangs never fail to surprise us with their human like characteristics. Orang faces clearly express boredom. curiosity and tenderness. Orang mothers keep careful watch over young babies just like human counterparts.
Wow, we are having a run on wall clocks, especially those with animal pictures! Irish family names on wall clocks have sold fairly well through the year. But, now shoppers have found our animal designs, as well. These sales have come through the Cafe Press directory.

Our family has enjoyed watching Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, on TV for years. We joined the rest of his fans in sorrow over his untimely passing. His tragic death reminds us all that wild animals can be dangerous and deadly as part of their defensive nature.

We like to include the scientific name of the animals used in our designs whenever possible. This time it required some online searching to determine if the cute critter was a frog or toad.
We learned the easiest difference to find is whether the animal is dry or wet. Toads are dry and frogs are slimy wet.
