On March 30 we joined ImageKind and have been uploading images ever since. The first sale came during the third week. Yesterday we received the following email from ImageKind:

“Congratulations! You have been selected as a Featured Artist of the Week at Imagekind!

We have selected an image from your gallery to be placed on the homepage of Imagekind.com, along with a short artist’s bio, which links to your Imagekind profile. This will stay in place for at least a week and sometimes, dependent on its popularity, may continue in place for another week. This cycle usually takes place on each Wednesday. You don’t need to do anything, you’re already on the homepage! However, this is a great time to update your galleries with any new work and to ensure that all your relevant details are in place.

It is our privilege to showcase your work as being outstanding amidst a field of so many other great artists and photographers. Our success is entirely about you, our creative community. Please tell your colleagues, friends and family about the #1 place on the web to discover and purchase original art.

Have a great day and we wish you continued success!

Cheers,

Travis Young”

Today, in Washington, DC, USA, we photographed the Old Post Office and Pavillion which is now a museum run by the Parks Service. Very interesting building with a tower reached by elevator. Photography from the tower has its difficulties. Several views have ropes over the open windows and one view has a clear glass window that is very dirty.

The post office building, itself, has a very high ceiling with interesting interior views. Can’t wait to see the developed film!

We also worked the Ronald Reagan building with all the exterior street art. Lots of interesting views.

Here’s the Old Post Office interior with elevator:

We have been photographing in Washington, D.C., USA, since last Friday. The weather has been almost perfect. There was a lot of wind today. Our hotel is only 2 blocks from the White House and almost every street has beautiful bronze statues. Most seem to have been important figures in the Revolutionary War.

We have current images of the following Washington, D.C. locations: Union Station with its shopping areas, Congress, the White House, Washington Convention Center, National Zoological Park ( giant panda, elephants, cheetah), National Gallery of Art, National Museum of the American Indian and lots more.

The modern sculpture at the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden was especially fascinating to photograph. Will post an example after the film is developed. We use 35mm slide film and then scan and burn CDs for photobuyers who prefer digital submissions.
